So here's another mini, artist-specific update, on a duo whose EP I probably listened to for 3 weeks straight. Best thing about it? It's fuckin free (so cop it at the bottom). The duo is compromised of Dubba The Slut on drums (...?), and Producer Jonny Gash (also interesting...?). Dubba drums their sets live, and Johnny does the djing and mixing, which is badass. With names like that, you'd expect it to attract prostitutes and meth-heads a like, but their music (though obviously heavy-handed on the low frequencies) is pretty creative. Dubba Jonny's most "radio-friendly" song (so to speak) is probably, All In, but its definitely not my favorite. Any artists who can take pure bass noises and make something gripping, with a catch and play, almost trance-like progression, has my respect and ears. For songs like those, I'd suggest Epic Tune, and Orchy, and Expired. And for rote "filth", definitely Liyaan! So damn versatile.
